This is a 100% pure beeswax candle is molded from an antique Elmer Smith Druggist glass bottle.
"Elmer Smith Druggist Front St. Douglas, Alaska ESTB. 1901" Douglas Island, located across the channel from mainland Juneau, has significant gold town history. Treadwell Mine operated from 1882 to 1917 and employed over 2,000 people. The town included a general store, taxidermist, and druggist.
This glass bottle was found by Kathryn Brownlee and her father while on a walk in Douglas, Alaska, where it was likely thrown out as trash over a century ago. In over 30 years of bottle searching, she has only seen two Elmer Smith Druggist bottles ever recovered.
